This week long event is perhaps the world’s largest gardening show. Latitude Festival in Southwold, Suffolk
If you love the chilled-out, trendy side to festivals then this one’s for you. Surrounding a beautiful lake, it’s known for it’s incredible live music, comedy acts, cabaret artists and literary figures. We recommend Dream In A Field in nearby Rushmere. An eco-friendly site, you can enjoy the camping experience in luxuriously furnished bell-tents with all the comforts of home.

AUGUST
Edinburgh Fringe Festival
This event is one of the world’s largest arts festivals. Take a trip up to the Fringe and soak up the culture, including comedy, dance, operas, art exhibitions and theatre. And don’t forget to get your tickets for the military tattoo, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display! Cornwall Food and Drink Festival, Truro
. With Autumn on its way, make the most of the last of the summer weather with this weekend event perfect for any Foodie. With Michelin-starred chefs, skills sessions for budding chefs and plenty of fun activities for kids, you certainly won’t go hungry! We recommend Ballaminers House in Padstow. About an hour away from Truro, this chic self-catering cottage is nearby to Rick Stein’s seafood restaurant, and has it’s own gorgeous farmhouse kitchen with Aga for you to cook up a storm yourself.

OCTOBER
Beer Festivals, Huddersfield Oktoberfest
The UK holds beer festivals all year round, and this is just one to check out. Last year, it offered over 90 types of beer and 20 types of cider and perry. So if beer-tasting’s your thing, we recommend staying under an hour away in Leeds in Hotel 42. This renovated corn mill boasts original features and luxurious comfort. And it’s in walking distance of some of the city’s trendy bars and restaurants, and designer stores and boutiques.

NOVEMBER
Ottery St Mary Carnival’s Flaming Tar Barrels, Devon.
This centuries old Devonshire tradition features torch lit processions in which 17 barrels are soaked in tar and set alight! There’s also a giant Guy Fawkes bonfire and fairground rides. Definitely a spectacle not to be missed, we recommend staying in nearby Summerhill Farm, Exeter, where you can stay and glamp in Mongolian-style yurts, made cosy with comfortable bedding, rugs and cushions. There’s also a wood-burning stove to keep you warm on a gloriously crisp autumn evening.
DECEMBER
Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park, London.
Wrap up in your coats and scarves, and don your skates for the Winter Wonderland’s magical ice rink. At this festive annual event, you can sip drinks at an igloo bar, sit on Santa’s knee, ride the giant observation wheel and peruse the Christmas market. Perfect for kids and adults alike! We recommend Tower Bridge Apartments, sleeping up to 6.
